These handam qalam pens have straight nibs and are used to write texts in Kufi Mushafi script ( also colled Manuscript Kufic, Quranic Kufic, Early Kufic or Primary Kufic).
The set contains 4 pens in sizes 3, 4, 5, and 6 mm.
Handam qalams are made from type of fern plant and are known for their characteristic shiny brown colour but also for their light weight and hardness. They are strong and sturdy, producing sharp lines without a frequent need to re-cut the nib.
