Dezfouli qalams are the most favourite amongst Arabic calligraphy masters. They are made from reeds growing in Dezfoul region of Iran. After harvesting the reed, it requires lengthy process of ‘seasoning’ which gives the reeds its hardness and suppleness but also its beautiful colours from hues of red, different shades of yellow, brown or even black.
Our Dezfouli qalams differ slightly in length and diameter.
To increase the time between cuts, use water-based inks and always clean the nib after use.
