This small slab made of bone and jujube wood is used as a support for cutting nibs of bamboo and reed qalam pens and it is extremely useful tool for Arabic calligraphers who prefer to open their own pens and cut their nibs.
This beautiful makta also has strip of fine sanding paper at the bottom for small nib adjustments.
