Dezfouli qalams are made from reeds growing in Dezfoul region of Iran and are considered the best for calligraphy pens.
After harvesting, the lengthy curing process of the reeds ensures they are very supple and easy to cut making them a pen of choice even for present day masters of Arabic calligraphy. This 'seasoning' also gives Dezfouli reeds their beautiful colours - from hues of red, different shades of yellow, brown or even black.
Each reed is supplied unopened and uncut. Reeds are of different diameter and length (20-32 cm) and will be sent at random when ordered.
To increase the time between cuts, use water-based inks and always clean the nib after use.
