This high quality writing mat is made from full grain cattle hide leather which has been treated with natural waxes. This increases the durability of the leather but also gives it its rustic, worn out look and patina.
Using semi-soft surface for writing eases tension on a wrist as well as pen's nib. It also allows for better connection between the pen, ink and paper.
