Made from reeds growing in marshy and wet areas, it is the oldest type of pen used for Arabic calligraphy. After harvesting the reed, it requires lengthy process of ‘seasoning’ which gives it its hardness and suppleness but also its beautiful colours from hues of red, different shades of yellow, brown or even black.
Our Kamish pens differ slightly in length and diameter.
To increase the time between cuts, use water-based inks and always clean the nib after use.
